Forward Air Introduces New Integrated Service: Forward Air CompleteTM
Online Solution For Forwarders Adds Cartage to Industry’s Leading Expedited Airport-to-Airport Linehaul Service

September 5, 2006
For Immediate Release:

GREENEVILLE, Tenn.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—September 5, 2006—Forward Air, Inc. today announced the premier of Forward Air CompleteTM, a new integrated service offering for the freight forwarding and logistics industry.  Forward Air Complete combines the power of Forward Air’s expedited ground transportation network with a broad array of local pick-up and delivery services in the largest cities throughout the United States.  It allows freight forwarders to electronically select the exact cartage services they need in cities around the country and bundle those services with time-definite airport-to-airport linehaul.  As a part of its Forward Air Complete service offering, Forward Air has established a contracted network of leading cartage providers in each market it serves to ensure a competitively priced, high quality product.  Forward Air Complete also includes electronic communication links for order placement, order acceptance and proof of delivery.

Craig A. Drum, Sr. Vice President Sales & Marketing of Forward Air, stated, “We developed Forward Air Complete to address the needs of our forwarder partners.  This service enables our customers to quickly set up orders online, cut out vendor management costs and streamline the wholesale shipping process from start to finish.  This service saves forwarders time and money while improving the overall service execution on their customers’ shipments.”

Forward Air’s Systems Technology group developed the foundation for Forward Air Complete, creating Cartage Interface that links every cartage vendor with the company’s mainframe.  ForwardAir.com was also upgraded with F.A.S.T. Quote, a new technology allowing customers to obtain customized quotes prior to booking a shipment and then quickly and easily booking that order using F.A.S.T. Book online.  The booking electronically dispatches the pick-up and delivery requests to the cartage vendor who confirms acceptance online, completes the service and provides confirmation of pick-up and proof of delivery online at ForwardAir.com.  The new Complete Management Group works with each vendor to ensure service standards are maintained, measuring performance quality on each transaction.  Customers will now be able to see the progress of shipments from start to finish from one source, providing end to end visibility on every move in the network.

Forward Air Complete delivers value to freight forwarders, 3PLs and logistics companies through the ease of use they receive with an online booking process, produces time savings from eliminating phone calls to various cartage agents and increases control by condensing the service management process into a single company, Forward Air.  The company validated these benefits by offering the service to select international shipping companies this summer, analyzing their feedback on the service to improve the technology, customer service and shipping process prior to its full launch.
