Forward Air LTL Capacity Surcharge
Forward Air's Capacity Surcharge (CAP) has been part of our published LTL rate structure since September 2021. Effective for shipments tendered on or after Monday, October 5, 2026, the surcharge will be $16.00 per shipment, reflecting the continued increase in the cost of securing and positioning network capacity.
This will be shown as a separate line item on customer invoices as CAP. CAP does not apply to shipments originating in California or Florida. California-origin shipments will be subject to the California Surcharge.
The Capacity Surcharge is reviewed regularly against market conditions and is subject to change without notice.
