Long Linehaul Surcharge

As a valued customer of Forward Air, we want to thank you for allowing us to serve your transportation needs. To enhance the differentiating service that we offer, Forward evaluates costs and marketplace conditions on an annual basis and makes rate adjustments when necessary.

To enable Forward to continue offering high volume capacity to our customers, we are implementing a long linehaul surcharge of 15% to select lanes of 2,000 miles or greater beginning March 1, 2021. Inbound California lanes, outbound Las Vegas lanes and outbound Northeast and Southeast lanes are excluded from the surcharge. Click here for a complete list of lanes subject to the surcharge.

The surcharge will be calculated based on standard Forward system routing and it will appear on invoices as “2KM.”

YYZ will be closed on Friday July 2 in observance of Canada Day.

Due to unprecedented volumes our network is experiencing, our DFW location will not be accepting any live tenders today, Monday, June 14, 2021. We will provide an update regarding Tuesday operations as early as possible on Tuesday.

Effective June 14, our EWR operations are moving to a larger facility at 4050 Tremley Point Rd., Linder, NJ 07036

Due to capacity challenges that are continuing, we will extend the long linehaul surcharge of 15% on select lanes of 2,000 miles or greater through the end of this year. Click here for a complete list of lanes subject to the surcharge.

Due to annual industry capacity challenges surrounding the Independence Day holiday, a 10% surcharge will be added to all shipments originating in LAX, ONT and ORD destined for our Northeast and Southeast regional points. The surcharge is effective June 28 – July 9.

Beginning Monday, June 7, customers will be able to ship and recover freight from CHA. We are reducing transit times by one day for enhanced door-to-door service.

All Forward Air terminals and hub operations in the U.S. will be closed on Monday, May 31 in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. Service delays within the Forward network are possible during the week of May 25 due to industry-wide capacity challenges. View full holiday schedule

Forward Air Premier Benefits

Forward Air Premier provides enhanced visibility to your shipments through tracking and through summary reports.  Online booking with FAST Book is also now available for our Premier customers who wish to book their shipments in advance and reduce their manual paper work. 

Not only can you track your shipments using Fast Track but you can get more detailed information including pieces, weight, and status history.

Summary reports are also available which show you all of your currently active shipments and all of those with POD information. These reports are available in downloadable formats.
